Things People Ask Us

Two ways. Buy directly through the site, or just reach out to us, whichever is easier. For custom orders, contact us first. Tell us what you're thinking, we'll confirm it's doable, land on a price and timeline, and go from there. Custom orders don't start until we've talked it through.

Walnut is expensive. That's mostly it. It costs more to buy, takes longer to work with, and everybody wants it. Maple is more affordable and still makes a great board. Cherry sits in the middle and looks better every year, which is more than we can say for most things. The prices reflect what the wood actually costs.

Size, wood species, grain pattern, juice groove, rubber feet, engraving, most things, honestly. Send us what you're thinking and we'll tell you if it's doable. We'll also tell you if it's not.

Mostly we just bring it to you. We're a local operation and for orders within reasonable distance, one of us will hand-deliver it. If you're further out, we'll ship it. Either way, reach out when you order and we'll figure out what makes sense. Nobody's waiting six to eight weeks for a cutting board.

Hand wash, dry immediately, oil it occasionally with food-safe mineral oil. Don't put it in the dishwasher. Don't leave it soaking in the sink.

No two boards are identical, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. The grain pattern, color variation, and figure you get are specific to your piece of wood. The website photo gives you a sense of species and style. What shows up at your door is the actual thing, unique to that board, that tree.
